Buddy,

I have several purchased used D-104 mics and the elements are all good. 
Pretty good chance yours will be OK.  There is a guy, I believe in Colorado 
who sells replacement ceramic cartridges that sound almost identical to the 
crystal elements.  I think it's somewhat involved to install it and it is 
probably something we blind may not be able to do.  The price as I recall 
was around $30.  If you need the information in the future, I will try to 
locate it again.
