Re retirement...

I retired from my position as a full professor of marketing at the end of
the 2012 spring semester, and I can honestly say that I have not missed the
university for one nanosecond. I, too, was getting pretty burned out; as
some of you know, as a professor in a major university, there is a constant
pressure to do research and publish, and while I had a very successful
career, it was getting more and more difficult to publish in the top
journals and to keep up with the ever changing technology and fighting,
literally, every single day with access issues.

However, I still work with some of my consulting clients, and I'm as busy
now as I was when I was on the faculty at the university. That seems to be
the key to a successful retirement; that is, to keep active, to keep your
brain active and to do some things that will exercise your body as much as
possible.

As strange as it might sound, financially, I'm actually earning more money
in terms of disposable income now than I was before I retired. My wife and I
are able to travel and enjoy sharing our final years together.

So, Junior congratulations and just live life to its fullest! Go bungie
jumping, zip-lining, parachuting, go on a rare dx-pidition! <smile>
