Butch:

Go to the Jaws windo, and then hit the alt key which will put you in the
options menu.

Then, up arrow until you get to Basics.

Hit enter on basics, and then tab, I believe two times until you hear
something like automatically start Jaws.  Un-check that box with the
spacebar, and you should be all set.

I bought a used lap top for a friend and it has jaws demmo on it.  I know I
can get into startup, but is there a way to tell jaws not to run at boot up?
I run window-eyes, so not all that familiar with jaws.  Might sighted friend
doesn't need speech.
