Hi Trevor,
Nice to meet you here <smile>! I believe there are two programmable buttons
on the mic keypad, and I wonder if these could be used to give you access?
I wonder also if the RT software allows you to save your settings and reload
alternative mappings? When I reviewed the 7000, I used the program buttons
to give me the Split function. Just speculating that you could use the
software to load in a DX mapping or a VHF mapping on demand, and have the
programmable buttons do your bidding...
Best wishes, Kelvin Marsh - M0AID

Hi kelvin,
Barry and I both have the RT Systems programming on our PC's just can't
switch from fo to memory mode on the IC7000.
I am just about to put a message up on a local group to do with repeaters
and see what response I get.
All the best,
Trevor VK6YJ,

Hi Barry,
There is an accessibility review of the IC-7000 at the Active Elements site
at:
http://active-elements.org/2012/12/11/ic-7000-accessibility-revieww/
It's a while since I used the radio myself, but rereading the review, I see
that the memory system was virtually inaccessible, and there are several
mentions of VHF repeater difficulties. There are some tips on using the
keypad, but no layout description.
I'd be interested to know what software you used to set things up?
Best wishes, Kelvin Marsh - M0AID

Subject: Accessing memory channels on the IC-7000
Greetings to all,
I have just joined the list. I am a totally blind ham operator located in
Perth, Western Australia.
I have an IC-7000 with the standard HM-151 microphone. I've recently bought
a computer program which enables me to change settings on the radio's menu
and program memory channels - useful for those repeaters which have DCS
access tones. Now that I've set up my repeaters as memory channels, how do
I call up those channels when the radio is in VFO mode? I'm hoping there's
a button on the microphone to do this.
On a broader topic, does anyone have a list of functions which the buttons
on the microphone perform? I've got the top left hand corner which
announces frequency, and when pressed for a couple of seconds locks the
radio.
Any help would be much apreciated.
Cheers,
Barry - VK6SP
