Yup, for now at least, I don't want anything to do with the
cloud. Jim WA6EKS

you do need to use the Amazon cloud player to accomplish the
download. You have to check a couple
boxes on the control page to give the thing permission to
download to your computer. In my
experience once the order is processed cloud player comes up and
the focus changes so you need to
return the focus to the browser window. There should be a
download link on the page. Clicking that
should start the download. The file downloads to a directory
called Amazon mp3. Under that will be
a sub directory for example Joe Walsh and under that there will
be sub directories for each song or
album. For example, But Seriously Folks. For my purposes, I
look for CD's with the auto rip option
I buy the disk as a backup in case the hardware goes tango
uniform. I can't be dealing with the
bloody cloud.

Hi again Jim,

Yes, you are correct, it would cost more if you purchased the
songs individually.

I have a thought, when you purchase music on Amazon, you can put
it in the Amazon cloud and then
download from the cloud later. I wonder if you need to use their
downloader to copy from the cloud?

OK, thanks Howard. Would still be a hassle to download an
entire CD that
way, and might cost more then downloading the album. Jim WA6EKS

 Hi Jim,

I have only purchased single files from Amazon and not a whole
album.

The downloader is not required in order to download individual
files, at
least that was the case when I purchased my last track last
August.

Just curious how folks on this list buy music online? I have
not had
 good
luck with Amazon and haven't tried I-Tunes for a long time I
really
 dislike
the Amazon music downloader they require you to install before
you can
 get
music from them. Found it inaccessible and never could complete
an
 order.
