I am reliably informed that one station rod is sufficient unless you are
using a ground mat as part of the antenna installation.

If it works its fine.  In general, running backwards, you start with one or 
more ground rods.
You run a wire which is berried from the farthest rod to each of the rods to

the shack.  Each device gets individually connected to this wire.  The 
heavier the gauge of the wire the better, and the longer and more plentiful 
the ground rods the better.  Sometimes things work with nothing for a ground

system.  The higher the ground conductivity of your soil, the better.
Don't obsess about it.
