Hi
Part of the issues that come up is which screen reader one is using. For
instance I downloaded the kenwood software from the kenwood website. I was
able to make it work using JAWS. However, I am currently blessed with JAWS.
However, If I were using a different screen reader I may need to use
different software. The main cost I had was buying the USB cable that would
fit kenwoods.
Just my thoughts.

I spent $50 on software and cable for the uv-5. Yep, I can program it
manually, but it is easier to make changes and clone with the rt
systems. And the cable just works. I didn't mind the expense at all
and don't regret the purchase. To each his own or whatever... What is
well worth $50 for me may not be for you and vise versa...
