To find out if it is the battery, feel along the top edge where it goes into the radio. there should be a wedge shaped protrusion on top where it goes into the latch on the radio body. if this is broken you should be able to feel it’s absence. The whole radio can be replaced on amazon for about $35 now in case it is not the battery.
