Seth Bittker and Katy Bell are examining whether or not certain factors
other than genetics are associated with celiac disease and gluten
sensitivity. Both are parents of children with Celiac Disease. This
research is being run through Columbia University’s Interdisciplinary
Center for Innovative Theory and Empirics.
Seth Bittker and Katy Bell would like to have families with children
currently age 3 to 12 years take a brief survey. They need families with
members who have Celiac Disease *AND* families who have no Celiac Disease
in the family. They need families where only parents have Celiac
Disease, where only children have Celiac Disease, and families where a
parent and child have Celiac Disease. They are in special need of
families with no Celiac Disease for the control group. So please SHARE
this information.
All families must be living in the USA and have a biological child
currently between the ages of 3 and 12.
It is a short survey. The only need for identification is an email
address if one wishes to be in the drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card.
The email address and data will be separated for confidentiality
purposes.
All funding for this research is being done by the researchers
themselves. As members of the Celiac community, we thank them.
Please share and remember to ask friends with children ages 3-12 who do not
have Celiac Disease in the family.
Thanks everyone.
Here is the formal request:
