All:
Do you have to purchase oo tunes, or does that automatically come with the
second-generation Stream?
The whole internet radio thing is making me think a bit more seriously
about purchasing one, since that option sure would be helpful when
traveling.
Does anyone know if Streaming NOAA Weather Radio is also included?

Hi Lou, had never heard of Ootunes until getting the VR Stream software
update. I like the fact that you can type in call letters, a city or
country name, or even someone's name and you might get results. I would
like to know if there are more amateur radio results on Ootunes besides the
maritime net, but that's cool too. 73, Jim WA6EKS

I use Ootunes on the IPod and it works great. One of the things I like
about it is when you search for a particular station, it lists every stream
available so you can easily pick the high bit rate ones if that's what you
want.

Scott, the Stream is using something or service called Oo-tunes which I
think can be accessed on the IPhone as well, but have no idea how to find
it. The stations available on oo-tunes are searchable by name, Genres
provided either by Oo-tunes or Humanware, then you can also build a
favorites file when you find something interesting. 73, Jim WA6EKS

Downloaded and installed the software. My first ever

Hi Russ, well, I think it's great too. I have used the Plextalk for

on the VR Stream. I have around 68=20 favorites so far. Would also like
to put some that are on the plextalk on the Stream. Maybe it can be done
using the Companion Reader software but I haven't downloaded that yet.
Have you tried it?

Just as an aside since you mentioned the Victor Stream, I have been using
the latest software upgrade for the Victor Stream=20 II, which now allows
you to receive internet rajio. I'm sure it's nothing new to all of you
I-phone users but it really enhances the capabilities of the Stream which
also allows downloading=20 your favorite papers from NFB newsline,
bookshare, and you can also look up stuff on Wicapedia and retrieve
definitions on Wictionary. Jim WA6EKS
