First of all, back off the drive until you get the hang of it.
2.  Tune the antenna.
3.  Turn the amp on, peak the tune, and crank up the plate, until the output 
doesn't go up any more, re-tune the plate.  Bring up the drive and check the 
tune again to be sure it is peaked.
At least that's an old pi network.  I can't believe I remember this stuff.
Depending on the amp, it might be simpler.
