I worked 1D on 40 and 20 SSB from the Chicago area. Forty was very
noisy last night but there was a lot of activity. Likewise, 20 was
good up until eleven o-clock Central daylight. Ten was open this
morning but I worked the only two stations I could hear - both in
Florida. Perhaps it was a sneak band opening that no one had yet discovered!
This morning there was way less forty meter activity than I
expected. There was a fair amount of atmospheric noise but signal
strengths were low and the numbers were less than I would have
expected. But overall it was a good event. I worked perhaps fifty
stations in three hours or so over the course of Field Day.
I don't recall working anyone from the list, but perhaps some of you
folks using club calls.
Pat, K9JAU
