 Hi Zach,
O.K. here is some more info on the scanner:
Uniden Bearcat 100 Channel Scanning Radio
 Model, BC 100 XLT
 NI-CAD battery BP 205
 600 MA H 7 volts

Perhaps if you were to call some place or the like Batteries
Plus, they
 might have such a battery.
Also, you should know that the ac charger plugs into the battery
pack.
If you have any more questions, just ask!
 Best 73.

 Hi Lowell,
 Thanks for letting me know.
25 bucks is a great deal on one that's working right.
I've price checked them on ebay, and they definitely aren't
cheap.
Best one I've seen went for 40 bucks and it was only a 30
channel
 bearcat.
Does yours have a battery that I could still buy, or does it use
a
rechargeable pack that I could get another one of since the one
you
 have's dead?
I'll be using it on a/c some times, but will need to use it
while not
 near an outlet.
If I can get a new battery, or if it can take non-rechargeable
batteries, I'd like to talk to you about buying it.
 thanks and 73,
 Zach

I think you are looking for.
It works well; the only thing is that the battery is dead on it
but it
 works

 fine on AC.
I would let you have it for $25.00 plus shipping.
 What do you think?

 Hey all,
I'm looking for some info on what would be a good scanner to
buy.
I'm looking for something handheld with a belt clip.
, hopefully it'd be not very expensive, and relatively
accessible to
 program.
Accessibility isn't key, as I only need to program it once, but
would
 be
 nice.
I'm using it to monitor emergency frequencies, but I don't need
digital capabilities, as my local fire and rescue guys are still
on
 analog.
I got a gig monitoring emergency frequencies for an independent
contractor who does immediate repairs on buildings that have
been
damaged by fires and vehicle crashes. For the job itself, I
only need
to monitor a few frequencies, so a scanner with a million slots
would
 be overkill.
I'm only gonna need about 10 to 20 frequencies programmed into
it, so
even an old school scanner from the 90s would work.

I have a scanner in my shack, but it's a desktop model and can't
be
carried around, and I shudder at the thought of having to use my
baofeng as a scanner. We all know how bad a scanner that thing
makes.
If anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Also, if anybody has a scanner like this lying around they'd be
interested in selling, I'm in the market.
 thanks and 73,
 Zach
