Dave,

I'm not much of a paddle guy (although I was on the receiving end as a 
child), I did plug a paddle into my Winkeyer.   With the USB 
disconnected, the rig won't key, so there is no "pass through".  This is 
kind of what I expected, since the unit draws it's power from the USB port.

  Sounds like everything is good except for some setting within your 
logging software.

  I know Tom is using the same set up: rig, keyer, and software, so 
hopefully the professor can get you straightned out.
