I really prefer using braille to monitor/control my radio over speech. When I’m trying to pick signals out of the noise, or am in a CW rag chew, I don’t want a synth chattering at me. I don’t want to hear it either when I’m cruising the bands looking for signals.
I use a 40 cell Packmate display, and wouldn’t be without it. I had to send it in for some major cleaning last summer, and managed to do it while we were on vacation for a couple of weeks. The last thing I did before leaving town was ship it off, and it was at the house when I got home.
I’m curious if anyone else on this list uses braille with their radio.
