the apple tv works with i tunes on amy computer, even windows machines, it access content that is in your I tunes library. it also access stuff like netflix and internet radio directly. Netflix is not only accessible but wonderful to use. i even reads descriptions. I have been saving up to get one myself, and hope i will get one or Christmas. Yo will need a tv or to mak sit truly worthwhile a home theater system with hdmi connections, or you can connect the audio with an optical digital cable to a receiver capable of accepting that connection.
