Michael,

Just a couple of thoughts: You say that the auto tuner in the 570
tunes it fine. The Kenwood is going to back down power when the auto
tuner is tuning. What happens when you increase power to 100 watts?
You said you are tuning the manual tuner at 100 watts, and while that
seems a bit high to me, to each his own. Just wondering if you see SWR
fluctuations when the 570 is at full power.

Also since you have to jiggle the roller inductor, just wondering if it
needs to be cleaned? While I have no experience with your tuner, the
Palstar manual tuner I have has a silver plated roller inductor that
will tarnish and cause problems. Palstar recommends cleaning with
alcohol every 6 months or so. Not sure how old your tuner is, or if
there is a recommended cleaning procedure, but you may want to check
that out. Don't know how close you are to the ocean, or salt air, but
I guess that could hasten the tarnish or oxidation problem on a silver
plated inductor.
