Hi John:
I use the Zero Five 43 foot vertical with 25 ground radials. There no trees to speak of around the antenna.
I use a TW-1 for readings and operating. I don't hear anything that sounds like something's loose and signals are strong.
I didn't really want to transmit as I was a little concerned with the fluctuating SWR on my 102's finals. When I connected the antenna to my TS-570 however, the auto tuner tuned it just fine and no fluctuating as far as I could tell.
I don't think its my rig, the FT-102 as in a dummy load, I'm not getting any fluctuating, flat in fact and full 200W out, 175 Key down. All clamps are secure and where the coax feeds the antenna is welled weather proofed and sealed.
Its that one band makes me suspect the tuner it self and the lack of problem when tuned by the Kenwood. My 102 doesn't have a built in tuner.
