Hello, I can assure you that you are going to love the speech unit for the
Steppir antenna. I've had my Steppir for about a year and a half but I have
only ad the speech unit for around four or five months and it makes a world
of difference. I'm so glad that this unit has been produced. It is
reliable and easy to use.
Let us know how you enjoy it. And, thanks again, Mike, for all your hard
work.

Subject: Talking box for the SteppIr SDA100 controller
For those of you with SteppIr antennas, W6QUV, Mike Cozzolino, has developed
a box that connects to the SDA100 that can speak the data produced by the
SteppIr DXA100 control unit. I will have one soon for my DB36. In order to
connect the talking box to the SDA100, you must send the controller to Mike
where he installs a small interface board into it. Once that has been done,
Mike ships the hadware back to you. I think that it will be of great
interest to blind SteppIr owners.
I believe that the cost is about $290 + shipping. Having used my DB36 for
several years, and my 4 element SteppIr for 6 years before that, I can tell
you how annoying it is to not be able to read the controller display.. When
I get mine get from Mike, and after I have had a chance to play with it, I
will post my experiences with it here.
