I use a PST2051 here with good effect. This is both via N1MM and, with a bit more difficulty, its own software.

I understand there's a talking controller (type C as opposed to type D) but I've no experience of that.

I think there's also software to provide a speech interface to the type D box, but I haven't tried that either. I think Ron Stone sells (or gives) that in UK.
