Hi Lowell,
As far as rotators go, there is an accessibility review of the Yaesu G1000
at:
http://active-elements.org/2013/01/18/yaesu-g-1000dxc/
I am also just about to post a review of the PST 2051. Both accessibility
evaluations are primarily looking at how a blind op uses the control box,
and there are a range of rotors that work with each box, from lightweight to
very heavy duty.

Chimneys are not usually recommended as good mounting points for antennas of
that size. I would ask several knowledgable people before proceeding in
that direction, starting with the weight and wind load specs of the hex
beam.

Subject: Antenna rotator needed
Hi List,
I am thinking about putting a Hex Beam and will need a light duty =
antenna rotator that is blind friendly.
Any suggestions? Or is there one that can be made usable in some way?
I'm planning to put all on a fireplace chimney.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
