Mike,

I don't think he pulled that cell but he said there were only 5 cells and 
you're saying 10 so he may need to examine it more closely.  These are 
vintage 1998 units and I think they did things differently then.  Also, if 
the firmware is gone, is there a way to reload it without going through FS? 
They charge a flat rate of $263 to deal with any problem and I have 3 of 
these units that, I think, have plenty of life left in them.  I mainly use 
them for speaking and doing production as well as taking notes in the shack. 
I like the continuous display that doesn't end in the middle for formatting. 
It promotes much smoother reading aloud.  73,  Lou
