There is an optional hand mic you can get with the programmable function 
keys on it and the DTMF pad on it. I must say I have a mic from a Kenwood 
TM-241A, I can do the same thing with running it on the TS-2000 if I want to 
and I've never used it other than to try it.I just do everything from the 
front of the radio and run the MC-60A for a mic.
