no dtmf keypad on the radio is one of the only complaints I've ever had with
the radio.
Because it's a fully featured VHF/UHF radio, it should either come stock
with a DTMF mike, or have that as a keypad option.
TX tone and RX tone are very simple to set.
Simply press the function button and the 4 key to get into tx tone set. And
function and the 6 key to get into rx tone set.
Though, one very minor anoyance is the tx tone on/off key, which is just the
four key, or the 6 key by themselves, don't give a high or low beep to
indicate they are on or off.
The rx tone is easy to tell because it mutes the squelch...but the tx tone
on/off is a bit of a question mark...only way to really confirm you have it
on is to key the repeater or listen to your transmission on a second radio
that has the same rx tone enabled.
Either way, very minor thing and easily worked around.
Though there are allot of buttons and knobs, each one has a function or two
and it isn't all that complicated once you figure out which buttons and
knobs your going to use the most often.
