I think it was HD8A in the Galapagos Islands. This location used to be very
active in contests for many years, but has been dormant for 2 or 3 now, I
think.

I stumbled on a big pile up on 20 meters tonight and finally found the =
transmitting station on 14043 down the band. The band was fading and he =
was running along at about 40 or 45 Words per minute. I heard his call =
a couple of times but he didn't give it often. He was working tons and =
tons of Europeans but the USA boys were still in the pile up just like =
they couldn't hear him. And me with no beam. Go figure. It sounded =
like HB8A or HD8A or whatever. I couldn't google it and get any type of =
an answer as usual so does anybody know what I might have been listening =
to?
Phil.
