I can think of nothing but good things to say about the tmv71A,
particularly for
blind ops.
I will have one in a few days, and can hardly wait to check into
nets, etc. with it. the wide range receiver is a treat along with all
the rest it can do, run two speakers, one for each receiver and you
can monitor two at the same time. You'd know which receiver comes in
by the direction of the speaker, e.g. left hand for 2 meters and
right hand for 440Mhz, or run both through the internal speaker. The
BGS1 speech board makes it possible to record the incoming signal as
well as speak such things as channel number, frequency, PL tone
number, state of either VFO or memory recall, call frequency, and much else.

there is a lot of material available for the Kenwood TMV71A around.
