Hi Michael,
Thanks for the AD5X.com web address, the ALS 600 and 1300 reviews are
excellent! The auto band changing option makes these amps very attractive
for a blind op! I also note he uses the MFJ-998 auto ATU, and I hope to
write an accessibility evaluation sometime, as I find it to be superb!

I'm not a user of this amp but Ameritron offers both an automatic band
switc= h which you connect to your exciter and to an RJ-45 jack on the back
of the a= mp. You can also get a unit that controls the power on/off, band
change and s= tandby. This unit connects to a 2nd RJ-45 on the amp. Both
these accessories= cost about 150USD. Check out the Ameritron site and
check out www.ad5x.com.= Phil has some nice reviews on both the 1300 and
600.=20
