Subject: [nfbwatlk] FW: Obituary for Kevin
>
> Kevin Lamar "K7RX" Nathan Kevin was born October 21, 1953 in Pocatello,
> ID. Kevin graduated from the Idaho State School for the Deaf and Blind,
> and graduated from Boise State University. Kevin had been totally blind
> since the age of two; it was normal for him. He worked for the Department
> of Services for The Blind in both Seattle and Tacoma. He was most recently
> a Youth Transition Specialist; helping visually impaired teenagers adjust
> to high school, and helping them to choose a path in life after high
> school. He also helped visually impaired senior citizens with life skills
> to adjust to their new visual limitations. Prior to moving to Washington,
> Kevin worked at the Idaho Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired
> for many years. He devoted his adult career to helping other visually
> impaired people have a normal life. Whatever they needed, he fought for
> them to the best of his ability, and encouraged them to realize they had
> no barriers. Kevin had been a ham radio operator since he was 13 years
> old. It was a lifelong hobby that opened up the world to him, and he loved
> it. Kevin had a love of music, and sang with the Boise Master Chorale for
> many years. He was very active in the church choir as well. Kevin is
> survived by his wife Kathy Nathan, children Dennis (Vanessa) Nathan, Emily
> (Jacob) Coleman, and Nick Nathan, stepchildren Jeff (Janie) Richmond and
> Jennifer Richmond, and grandchildren Kayden, Sawyer, and Rhylie Coleman. A
> memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2nd, 2012 at 2:00pm at
> Calvary Lutheran Church in Federal Way.
