When I switched from my Icom 746 and 718 to my Kenwood TS480, and then
TS590, I remember being confused about the normal CW mode being in upper, as
compared to lower sideband.
It took a while for me to get used to, and I still don't understand why the
sideband for normal CW mode can't be standardized across rig manufacturers.
Just one of those mysteries of life, I guess. (smile)

Basically, CW Reverse switches the radio from using the upper to lower
sideband. I've noticed that all the Kenwood radios I've ever had use the
upper side band for normal CW, but all the Icoms use the lower one. I don't
know what Yaesu does.
