Fred:

If you can give me your private e-mail address, I'll send you some
instructions that Kevin (K7RX) sent me when I was initially learning to tune
my Ameritron AL811H amplifier with my TS480 about five years ago.

Now, I do the procedure without even thinking about it, but the instructions
are still handy for quick reference if needed.

The process, in concept, would be the same for you, I'm sure.

P.S. I sure do miss Kevin!!

First of all, back off the drive until you get the hang of it.
2. Tune the antenna.
3. Turn the amp on, peak the tune, and crank up the plate, until the output
doesn't go up any more, re-tune the plate. Bring up the drive and check the
tune again to be sure it is peaked.
At least that's an old pi network. I can't believe I remember this stuff.
Depending on the amp, it might be simpler.
