The manual does say to use 2  foam pads and  the other 3 are not used, 
but the description isn't very clear on the placement.  It does say to 
attach them to the vgs-1, so  maybe one goes on each side?   If you 
can't find someone to look at the picture or drawing or whatever is on 
page 71 of the print manual, maybe a little trial and error is in order 
and see  what fits best.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I had mine installed at HRO and never 
had my hands in there.
