John, if you don't even want to mess with a smart phone, I
recently got a Kyocera Kona flip phone from Sprint which speaks
all or at least all the menu items I have needed. Still haven't
figured out how to get battery level and signal status, but I
have heard the phone do it when my relative was getting the
speech guide working. Only problem was that she couldn't
replicate that. But you can go through your contact list and
make calls very easily. If you want a Smart Phone, this isn't
it, but if you just want a simple dumb one you might check out
the Kyocera Kona. Jim WA6EKS

Subject: OT cell phone question

Hi, I'm in the market for a new cell phone. I don't want/can't
afford an =
IPhone so I'm guessing my next best option is android. I'm done
with =
windows phones, had 2 and both were constantly locking up, going
flakey, =
anything they can do to make me never want another. Anything I
need to =
look out for with Androids? Any free screen reader software for
them, =
would I be wasting my time and better off staying with what I
have?
