Tom,

If you've just started having this problem, my guess is that something has 
failed with the jack itself.  Unfortunately, those 1/8-inch jacks aren't the 
strongest things in the world, and the problem is compounded by the fact 
that it's attached to the circuit board (yet another weak link in the 
chain).  You may ultimately have to send the radio somewhere to have this 
repaired.
