I ask the same question. I tried to contribute to the thread, and then the
attacks began. Ask a fellow by the name of Michael.

Subject: How Did This Happen?

Hi List,

I saw a large amount of mail concerning the TS 990 radio. Being of
relatively meager economic means, I chose not to follow it--since if I
liked what I read I would probably want one and thus get depressed and
have a complex or something <great big guffaw!> But the messages kept
coming and coming, so I started to read a few of them and I have only
one question.

I am wondering how a thread that was title 'TS 990' got into a big
political discussion replete with bombast, insults and ad homonym attacks?
