Hi Duane:
Although I cannot help you with the first question re "URL", I can give you
some advice regarding updating your Adobe Acrobat Reader.
First, the version that I would recommend is V: "DC". You can access this
from the Adobe website, which I am sure you can find by using a web search.
As far as using the "find" feature in a PDF document goes, I do not recall
having any trouble using the "Control+f" keystroke combination. However,
perhaps there is some kind of trick to this. I do have times when "Control+f"
does not work in MS Word 2013. However, when this happens, I simply go up a
line or 2, and enter "Control+f" again, and it pretty-much always works.
By the way, I am using Windows 8.1, which I believe would work the same way as
Windows 7 in this regard.
Good luck with the rest of what you're looking for.
Jim H

Subject: [VICUG-L] How do I copy & paste the URL when viewing a PDF using
Adobe Reader?
Hi All,
I am using Windows 7 and JAWS 17. When viewing a web page with Internet
Explorer the ALT+D key combination will put me in the address field
where I can copy the URL to paste elsewhere. How do I perform this same
function when using Adobe Reader to view a PDF document? I think I am
using Adobe Reader version X.
As an aside, I sometimes hear JAWS read a popup window that says I can
update to a newer version of Adobe Reader, but I can never seem to get
focus on that window or perhaps it is only on the screen temporarily.
What's the best method for updating Adobe Reader and are later versions
more accessible? For example, I've never quite been able to figure out
how to properly use the search feature in Adobe Reader with JAWS.
Thanks,
Duane
