Harry & All,
I am running JAWS 17 on a Windows 7 computer and have been experiencing
a similar issue for a long time where JAWS stops talking and then
reloads and starts itself. I find it happens more often while I am using
Mozilla Thunderbird, but I imagine it's happened to me while browsing
Web pages, too. This is an extremely frustrating issue and I have long
thought about posting a message about it. I, too, would appreciate any
insight that others can provide and I am also wondering how common this
is? There are times when, rather than JAWS simply stopping and
restarting, the computer will either crash or suddenly reboot itself for
no apparent reason. Could this indicate a hardware conflict, either with
the video or sound card?
On a possibly related topic, I have noticed that with the current
versions of JAWS 17 and Thunderbird things often move very slowly in
Thunderbird and there are delays in JAWS speaking while while using
Thunderbird. For example, it happened once again just before I started
to write this paragraph. And, while writing this just now, new messages
were received by Thunderbird and JAWS ceased talking for about 5
seconds. This happens whenever I am using Thunderbird and new messages
are received.
Do others think that moving to JAWS 18 and/or Windows 10 might solve
these issues? Or, are they more likely related to the computer's hardware?
Thanks,
Duane
Thanks,
Duane
