Hi, Jeff. I am currently using a BrailleConnect 32 with my iPhone 4, and it is working very, very well. As another post has said, there are a few issues, particularly with back translation, but I find the few small issues well worth it for the convenience this offers me.

For the first time in my life, I can sit in the chair and read the local newspaper without wires or cables on a relatively fast system. I can also read books to my wife when we travel and use a GPS program on the iPhone with Braille to help navigate.

I am also a pastor, and keep my sermon notes and Bible software on the iPhone, which enables me to have braille when at church. Again, the few issues I have had to deal with are nothing when compared with the convenience and the mobility I have gained.

If you have further questions or need additional thoughts, please feel free to contact me on- or off-list.

Keith

Subject: [VICUG-L] Braille Display and IPhone?

Greetings folks, how is everyone doing? I just had a question of curiosity about Bluetooth braille devices and the iPhone. How much would one cost, and what is the best one to get that would work well with the iPhone? I'm not planning on purchasing one right away but I'm thinking about it sometime down the road.
