Hi Ana
Someone I know was recently showing off some tablet she had bought a
keyboard add-on for.
It looked really cool but I did not particularly feel I could ask to
grab and play for a few minutes. This person tends to be extremely in
love with all her technological finds and not necessarily to fathom why
the finds might not work for other people. Sometimes it is easier just
to plead the crush of time than to have to deliver crushing news about
something's unsuitability.
Anyway, it's worth asking for models with keyboards, and it's probably
worth calling around both about what's in stock and in terms of
variable helpfulness of staff.
Good Luck
DoreneC

Anna,You will want to confirm that they do not have keyboards. We have
used a few different tablets in a research project I am working on, and
all the ones we have used have keyboards. They can be used closed
strictly as a tablet. Or you can open the lid and swivel the screen
around and it is just like a little netbook. Check them out.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Netbooks with Hardware Keyboards
Hi All,
My trusty Windows netbook is giving me problems, so I'm debating
whether to repair or replace. When I went online to check out the
latest and greatest in netbooks, I noticed that my results tended to be
10-inch tablets. since the tablets I've actually touched have virtual
keyboards, not lovely keys to press, I'm wondering what laptop/netbooks
you all know of that are small and light and have physical keyboards.
This would be a secondary computer for me, something that needs to go
where I go, so relatively small and light are important.
I'll be going out to visit stores too, but I'm posting here because
some treasures aren't widely carried.
Thanks.
Ciao
