Yah, very dumb! I tried to use an ethernet extension cable for 
the mic a long time ago and it never did work.  Jim WA6EKS

you don't.  Maybe you shout real loud?  Haha.  I think keeping RF 
out of the
audio would be impossible.  Now why couldn't they put the mike 
jack in the
control head, like the Icom people figured out a way to do?
