I'm reading this thread with a great deal of interest. I have this 
problem with YouTube and other streaming sources too: videos are played 
a few seconds or minutes at a time, with small and large pauses in between.

I assumed this had to do with the number of persons accessing the video 
or with the video itself (maybe the size) because it tends to happen 
with some videos a lot more than with others. I have this problem both 
at home, where I have a password on my network, and on campus, where a 
lot of people have access to the network.

So this is a problem with interference, not with general traffic to the 
website, etc?
