I can’t say there was much enthusiasm for this book. Perhaps it is too little-too late. I believe the celiac community has done more to address this double diet than the diabetes community. Here are the few responses below:

1) Hi, I bought it years ago, it was really just about being gluten free. I felt it was a waste of money. Hopefully, they have updated it. It was a great book if you had been newly diagnosed. Not much info on the connection between diabetes and gluten intolerance.

2) I am not Diabetic, but gluten-free and write a food/drink blog with all GF recipes (BoulderLocavore.com). A fellow blogger has a great website that is targeting Diabetics (she is herself) and mostly gluten-free too. Her recipes are well labeled. I believe she may have been a contributor to the cookbook you mentioned. I thought you might be interested in her website as it's free and she does some great food: http://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/

3) As the ADA recommends 40-60 carbs per meal with snacks between, I would not want this book. I keep my A1c under 5.3 by sticking with a very low carb diet as recommended by Dr Richard K Bernstein. He wrote Diabetes Solution - a must read. keeping truly normal blood sugars, one can avoid and even reverse complications from elevated blood sugars. An excellent website is Blood Sugar 101. The cookbooks I find most helpful are the Paleo ones although some of those have too many carbs for me. I eat about 30-60 carbs a day.

4) Usually Amazon has indexes with their books. Check the index and see if it would have things you would want to make. Years ago when I was diagnosed with CD I would have been happy to have it as I had a diabetic child but sometimes a cookbook just does not have recipes for the kind of things you want.
