I purchased and I pod for before purchasing an iPhone, to see if I would like it or was even able to use it in a timely manner. Regarding the speech feedback distracting the ham operators, why not have your speech feedback in one channel and your radio in another? Say your left channel has just the receiver, and your right channel Would have the radio, and Your speech software And once your speech software starts talking, it would lower the radio volume in the right channel a a little bit. And why not talk to the developers, and ask them if it would be feasible at all to have different settings for beginner users intermediate users and advanced users. Let's use the VGS one as an example, it might drive the price of that up to 200 or so dollars.
