Gary - try this:

When you have Google open, click the "view" tab

On your toolbar (probably top of your page). Scroll down to encoding.
Set it (click) on "Unicode (UTF-8)". It may have somehow gotten
switched to one of the European settings (?)

It's worth a try!

Subject: Google

Hi all!

I know it's been a while since I checked in here, but I'm definitely
still around.

So having a problem with Google since about 6 o'clock California time on
Tuesday the 4th. For whatever reason, when ever I go to any of Google's
news links, it seems everything comes up in German by default. I use
Internet Explorer with Windows-XP

So do I need to go in &reset something on my Google home page, or is it
just some kind of temporary glitch with Google?

Thanks for any help you can give me here.

See ya!!-Gary PS As of late this morning May 5, Google is still coming
up in German.
