GLUTEN-FREE AWAY FROM HOME: Navigating Travel, School, College and Camp

Maria Ann Roglieri, Ph.D., is Professor of Italian at St. Thomas Aquinas College. She holds a B.A. from Columbia University, and an M.A., Ph.D., in Italian literature from Harvard University.
Maria is the Author of The Gluten-Free Guide to Italy, The Gluten-Free Guide to France, The Gluten-Free Guide to New York, and is the editor of The Gluten-Free Guide to Washington.

In addition to The Gluten-Free Guides, she has also authored articles on gluten-free Italy and France, and Spain for ZonderMeer Magazine and the Westchester Celiac Sprue Support Group newsletter. She has been a guest blogger on celiacchicks.com and glutenfreeglobetrotter.com.
Maria is very active in the American celiac community, giving lectures and counseling the newly diagnosed. Maria went on a gluten-free diet after 15 years of doctoring and operations failed to relieve her digestive and neurological symptoms. Around the same time, her then six-year old daughter, Sara Friedman, was diagnosed with celiac disease and placed on a gluten-free diet.

Sara Diana Friedman is the author of The Gluten-Free Guide to Washington, D.C. Her book has just been released in the second edition. Sara, who is now 16, has written an article on gluten-free Washington, D.C. and New York for ZonderMeer Magazine (in the Netherlands) and has been a guest blogger on celiacchicks.com. She has also appeared on TV's NYMetro 1 to talk about gluten-free living.

Maria and Sara will share their knowledge and experience with us, and there will be a question and answer period following their presentation. Be sure to attend this informative meeting!
