In the radio news this morning was a story about the overuse of CT 
scanners, radiation from the scans possibly leading to 
cancer.  There's a discussion about how hospitals and physicians 
might reduce use.  I didn't hear even a hint about device 
manufacturer negligence.  I paid attention because the lack of 
testing by device manufacturers is on the FDA agenda now, 
specifically about reclassifying ECT machines as safer, without 
testing.  Linda Andre has taken the lead on the shock issue, recently 
publishing a brilliant book documenting with great care how profit 
has trumped other interests, including trumping patient wellness.
