Howard Dully, one of the youngest recipients and last survivors of
Dr. Walter Freeman's transorbital lobotomy procedure. In the film we
focus on the childhood of Howard pre and post lobotomy, and growing
up in an insane asylum before he is let out into society to fend for
himself. In his adult life Howard struggles with poverty, criminality
and depression. It was not until he began to confront the truth as to
what happened to him as a child that he begins the healing process
and in the end helps others with public speaking, his interviews and
his autobiography
