Job Objectives

Under general supervision of the Accessible Technology Services 
unit
supervisor, Senior Information Systems Analyst (Supervisor), the 
Associate
Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) performs a wide range of 
analytical
and technical activities to deliver services provided by the 
Accessible
Technology Services unit.  The incumbent performs the more 
responsible,
varied, and difficult work of the unit, and is assigned full 
journey level
responsibilities, requiring independence of action.  The 
incumbent may act as
lead person, and may represent the unit, division, or Department, 
on topics
pertaining to accessibility and information technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Accessibility Assessments - Applying appropriate statutory, 
policy, and
technical guidance, along with accessible technology usability 
best
practices, facilitate and perform accessibility assessments of 
internal and
external systems, as necessary to meet Department and statewide 
needs.
Document and report assessment findings to stakeholders using 
approved
processes and formats.

Outreach and Collaboration - Develop and maintain collaborative
relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with the 
purpose of
increasing awareness of accessible technology and compliance with 
applicable
statutes, policies, and procedures.  Collaborate appropriately 
with vendor
and community stakeholders to promote sharing of best practices 
and
improvement of products and services.

Training - Organize, develop, coordinate, and conduct the 
Department's
internal accessible technology training program.  Create and 
deliver
comprehensive training solutions that address the business needs 
of
accessible technology users at all levels of proficiency, who 
employ a
variety of desktop, mobile, and server-based computing solutions 
that must
seamlessly inter-operate.

Assistive Technology Research and Support - Research and evaluate
accessibility solutions used by staff at the Department.  
Identify and
evaluate emerging technology such as tablets, smartphones, and 
wearable
technology, to derive increased productivity and stakeholder 
value for
Department staff.  Provide technical assistance to assistive 
technology users
via telephone and remote access technology using approved issue 
and problem
tracking procedures.  Create assistive technology installation 
images and
deployment packages.  Perform hardware and software 
installations, including
defined post-installation configuration.

Other Duties as Required - Prepare memos, letters, and reports to
communicate with customers, control agencies, and other entities 
as needed.
Assist other functional areas as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

.     Ability to make technical presentations to diverse 
audiences.

.     Knowledge of State and Federal statute and policy 
pertaining to
information technology accessibility.

.     Knowledge of State IT policies, standards, and reporting 
requirements.


.     Demonstrated ability to act independently with flexibility 
and tact.

.     Demonstrated ability to gain and maintain the confidence 
and
cooperation of others.

.     A personal commitment to effectively contribute to the 
Department's
Vision, Mission Statement, Core Values, Guiding Principles, and 
Strategic
Plan.

.     Demonstrated experience with current computer industry 
technology and
practices.

.     Appreciation of the ability of individuals with 
disabilities to become
contributing members of our society.

Who May Apply:

Individuals who have list, transfer or reinstatement eligibility 
for
appointment to the above class.  In order to be considered for 
this position,
please state the basis of your eligibility (e.g., transfer, list,
reinstatement) in Section 12 of the application (Form STD 678).  
Employment
provisions as outlined by the Department of Personnel 
Administration's State
Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail.  May also
