Chris
In many ways, MSFT is in a no-win position when it comes to xp. Timewise,
it makes sense for them to free resources from XP support.
On the other hand, perhaps 25-30% of pcs out there are still running xp.
My son visits a lot of businesses and a good number of them still run xp.
He asks them and the basic answer is "why not. It does what we need it to
do."
This makes for a good news story, but I am betting that most xp users will
continue using xp for the time being.
After all, there are also users out there happily running older versions
of MSFT operating systems.
We can certainly question their decision not to move to Win 7 or 8, but
them on the other hand, those users see no reason to change what they're
doing either.
Let's see if we'll see any last minute news from MSFT over the next couple
of days.
I am not betting on it; but, then, on the other hand, it wouldn't be
shocking either.
We are ready to leap forward in our Christian walk when we embrace
the unshakable reality that the universe revolves around God, not us.
