The problem I'm having is that, when Jaws doesn't read a document in 
Protected View, the usual solutions of pressing ctrl+S or F12 doesn't 
bring up the Save As dialog box, which I would normally use to unprotect 
the document.

A variation of Ted's original solution is working for me. For whatever 
reason, nothing happens when I press alt+F, but I can press alt, then F, 
then down-arrow a few times, then up-arrow until I get to Save As.


Thanks, Deborah, for thinking I'm too young to remember DOS and 
WordPerfect 5.1. That was my college setup, after a few years of 
typewriter only.
