Actually, correcting myself slightly, there are two itterations of zoom on the mac. one is in the window menu of each app and the other is in universal access in system prefs and they both work with vo.

It is a fact though that in ios, they are mutually exclusive.

I do it all the time, it is not a separate application on the mac, it is applied to whichever window or group you want to apply it to.

To my knowledge, you can’t use Voiceover and Zoom at the same time. This can be a deal breaker for people who have low vision, but may also want the option of supplementation with speech.

Subject: [VICUG-L] a couple of mac questions

Hi list, I may soon be switching from a PC to a Mac at work. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on the accessibility features of the latest mac OS. I am quite familiar with voice over, but am wondering if there are any zoom features or screen enhancements as well.
I currently use Zoom Text magnification and screen reading combined on my Windows 7 PC.
thanks,
Heather
